Ever wonder why the Great Britain Pound has a greater value than the US Dollar?

I’ve always wondered why US currency had that whole “In God We Trust” bullshit on it. Our local currency also has several religious symbolism on them, but we already know what kind of power the Catholic church has over here so it’s no big surprise. Perhaps that crap on our banknotes makes it even less valuable than the dollar.
